Textile history in the heart of town

The Museum Tuch + Technik shows how wool became cloth and how the textile industry shaped Neumünster. It sits right in the town centre, and that is exactly where the real trouble starts for many visitors: parking in the centre costs time and nerves.

By taxi the question never arises. We drop you off within a few steps of the entrance, and after your visit we pick you up in the same spot. From every part of town it is a short ride at the official tariff.

For guests who are no longer so steady on their feet

A museum visit rarely fails for lack of interest, it fails on the journey there. So we drive from front door to entrance, and our drivers help you in and out of the car. A wheeled walker naturally travels in the boot.

For the ride back, simply agree a fixed time. Or give us a quick call after your visit on 04321 22200 and we will send the next available car. There is no time pressure at all.

School classes and groups

A class trip to the museum does not always need a hired coach. A large taxi takes up to eight people, and for a whole class we send several cars at the same time. One booking is enough, the dispatch office coordinates the rest.

Within Neumünster every car charges at the official tariff. A surcharge only applies when more than four people ride in one car: €7.00 for five to six, €10.00 for seven to eight, per journey in each case.

Senior groups and clubs get to the museum just as comfortably. Tell us how many people and what time, and we plan the rest.

By train to Neumünster, by taxi to the museum

Many visitors arrive by rail, as Neumünster is easy to reach from Hamburg, Kiel and Flensburg. From the station to the museum it is only a few minutes by taxi.

There is a permanent taxi rank at the station, but booking ahead is safer still. Tell us your train's arrival time and the car will be waiting when you get in. Getting the car to you costs nothing.

What the ride costs

Within Neumünster the official taxi tariff applies: a base fare of €4.60 during the day, €2.30 per kilometre for the first six kilometres, then €1.90. For most rides from within town to the museum that keeps things very manageable; the booking form shows you an estimate beforehand.

Good to know for a weekend visit: on Sundays and public holidays the base fare is €5.60, while the price per kilometre stays the same. You pay in the car, in cash or by card.
