Which berth belongs to which shipping line?
The names look alike and get mixed up all the time. Ostseekai and Ostuferhafen sound almost the same but sit on opposite banks of the Kiel Fjord. Head for the wrong one and you are seven kilometres out.

Coach or taxi? The honest sum

How many berths does the port of Kiel have?

What is the difference between Ostseekai and Ostuferhafen?
The Ostseekai is the cruise terminal on the western bank of the Kiel Fjord, right by the city centre. The Ostuferhafen lies opposite on the eastern bank and handles freight and ferries. There are some seven kilometres between them.
Does every berth cost the same?
Yes, all five cost the same: 150.00 € from Hamburg Airport for the whole car with up to four people. That includes the Ostuferhafen, even though the drive there is roughly five kilometres longer.
Does the KIELIUS coach run to the quays?
No. The KIELIUS runs from Kiel bus station via Neumünster to Hamburg Airport. From the bus station to the quay you carry your own luggage.
Do you drive the other way as well, from the quay to the airport?
Yes, every run works in both directions for the same fixed price. We are on the quay when you come off the ship.
