The town on the canal, the A7 in one run
Rendsburg sits right on the Kiel Canal, one of the busiest artificial waterways in the world. Its landmark is the railway high bridge of 1913, with a transporter ferry crossing the canal beneath it; cars take the tunnel under the water. Standing on the bank, you watch sea-going ships pass through the middle of the countryside.
